Poole Scouts give out over 80 awards in one night.

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and their leaders from across Poole District came together to celebrate their success at their annual Awards Night. Some 80 plus awards were handed to young people and adults in the presence of the Mayor of Poole and special guests from Dorset Scouts.

This annual event, that is now in its 6th year, showcases all that is great about Scouting in Poole while recognising the young people who have worked hard and gained their Chief Scouts Awards alongside the adventures of Scouting.  

District Commissioner, Ragen Bartaby said ‘This is the highlight of the year, to see all the young people walk across the stage and collect their Chief Scouts Award knowing that they’ve had fun while achieving these top awards which has given all of them skills for life, they are a credit to the adults and leaders that support them.”

Alongside the adult awards, special recognition awards were given out to Young Leader of the Year, Leader of the Year and New Comer of the Year.

Mayor of Poole, Councillor Marion Le Poidevin added. “It’s great to see Scouting in Poole thriving with lots of young people having a great time and achieving“.
