The Modules:

Module A is compulsory for ALL and for Explorers MUST be completed within 3 months of starting the scheme.  For non-members, we ask that they do this BEFORE starting. They could try for a couple of weeks, but this will not count towards their volunteering time.

The Missions:

Mission 1: GamePlan and run a minimum of three games with the section you are volunteering with. At least one game should take place indoors and one outdoors
Mission 2: ActivityPlan and run an activity (not a game) with the section you are volunteering with
Mission 3: Programme PlanningTake the section’s programme ideas to a programme planning meeting
Mission 4: DeliveryTake responsibility for organising and running part of the section programme

The Awards:

Explorer Scout Young Leader Badge & Woggle
These are awarded after completing Module A
Log Book
This helps you understand what you need to do and checks your progress through the Scheme
Mission Strip x4
After completing each individual mission, a mission strip is awarded. These should be placed around the Module A badge
Explorer Scout Young Leader belt buckle
This should be awarded on completion of the entire Scheme (all training modules and missions)
Explorer Scout Young Leader Service Award
This can be worn on the adult uniform to recognise a person’s completion of the scheme
